Golden Banana: Raw Vegan Smoothie Recipe + Customize To Your Dosha

I’ve got a golden banana!

Do you want a golden banana?!

Turns out, you don’t have to be in the tropics to have your golden banana!


Drink it for breakfast, lunch, and/or snacks…

Have it before or after a workout…

And, feel like a monkey in the best way possible!

Here’s The Recipe!


  • 5 bananas (ripe & spotty)
  • 2 medjool dates, pitted
  • 2 cups coconut water (from fresh Thai coconut or bottle coconut water)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extra or 1/4 tsp vanilla powder


1. Place all ingredients in blender.

2. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy.

Recommendations For Your Dosha:

Vata – This recipe is excellent for you. If fruits and fats combine well for you, feel free to add the coconut meat (if using fresh Thai coconut) to the smoothie. Definitely throw in a couple dates. Turmeric, vanilla, and black pepper are all pacifying for vata.

Pitta – Cooling coconut water and vanilla are excellent for pitta, and balance warming bananas. Turmeric and small amounts of black pepper, though heating, are also pacifying for pitta.

Kapha – Turmeric, vanilla, and black pepper are all kapha-pacifying. See how you respond to the bananas, as they may be kapha aggravating. Skip the dates to make it less dense and sweet. Feel free to add some of your favorite green powder to this!
