Is this an everyday treat?
It depends on you.
For me, this is more of a special occasion treat to enjoy myself and share with friends and family.
But if you are coming from an everyday-bar-of-chocolate habit (that was me once, too!), this might be a good substitution for you.
Regardless, listen to your body and enjoy!
Here’s the recipe!
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 15 medjool dates, pitted
- 1/4 cup cacao butter, melted*
- 1/4 cup cacao powder*
- 1-2 tbsp cacao nibs
- *Double the cacao butter and powder if you want a more chocolate-y treat (AKA me!). With this much chocolate, I’d advise you to pour half as the first layer (freeze for 30 min), then layer the date-almond dough, then pour the other half as the top layer. Make sure to use wax paper!!
