Beauty Bar: Raw Vegan Recipe + Customize According To Your Ayurveda Dosha

Last week, I went for my training hike, and this is what I took with me.

It’s a hydrating blend of juices paired with super powerful berries and cherries.

Together, these fruits not only taste great…

But also make the perfect fuel before, during, or after a work out!

Not working out?

Drink it for breakfast, lunch, snacks, or a sweet-tooth-quenching pre-dinner beverage.

Here’s The Recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh orange juice*
  • 2 cups pomegranate juice**
  • 1/2 cup berries
  • 2 cup cherries, pitted

*I use 2-4 pounds of oranges to make 2 cups of juice with this juicer.

**Fresh is best, but bottled organic is a good second choice.

Process:

1. Place all ingredients in blender.

2. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy.

Customize Recipe According To Your Ayurveda Dosha.

Vata – This recipe rocks for you. All these fruits are vata-pacifying. Do your best to use fresh, not frozen fruit. To minimize the cooling quality, remove any refrigerated ingredients from the refrigerator and allow them to warm to room temperature before you make the recipe. Store your fruit outside of the fridge as much as possible. Throw in a chunk of fresh ginger to increase warming quality. Feel free to add a couple dates to increase the heartiness of this recipe. Feel free to increase orange juice and decrease pomegranate juice.

Pitta – This is a great recipe for you too! It is light and cooling. Use whatever ratio of pomegranate to orange juice that you like.

Kapha – Do your best to use fresh, not frozen fruit. To minimize the cooling quality, remove any refrigerated ingredients from the refrigerator and allow them to warm to room temperature before you make the recipe. Store your fruit outside of the fridge as much as possible. Throw in a chunk of fresh ginger to increase warming quality. Feel free to increase pomegranate juice, and decrease orange juice.
