Raw Food Ayurveda Recipe: Green Lighthouse Smoothie

Start the day with this smoothie for a nutrient-blast!

Or, enjoy it as an afternoon pick-me-up.

Either way, know that you are giving yourself all kinds of green goodness to light up your heart chakra and infuse your cells with the nutrients you need.

Here’s the Recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups power greens (baby kale, chard, spinach)
  • 1 inch chunk ginger, minced
  • 1 lime, peeled & quartered
  • 1-2 tbsp Daily Green Boost (or other Barley Grass Juice Powder)
  • 2 cups filtered water

Process:

  1. Place all ingredients in high speed blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Enjoy as an afternoon pick me up!

Doshic Analysis

Vata, pitta, and kapha will all benefit from this nutrient-dense, greens-packed, hydrating, detoxifying smoothie. Vata and kapha may want to increase the ginger, if desired, to crank up the heating power and ignite agni. If pitta is aggravated, pitta will want to be mindful of the ginger. Otherwise, all doshas can enjoy the tridoshic synergy of this salty, tangy, and zingy green drink!
