Big Island Juicy Smoothie Raw Vegan Recipe + Customize According To Your Ayurveda Dosha

Anyone remember the Dole Pineapple Orange Banana juice?

It may actually still be a thing…

I remember loving it when I was growing up.

I could drink glass after glass of it!

This recipe is a throwback to that deliciousness.

Only, none of the ingredients are from concentrate.

Nor are they pasteurized.

They are pure RAW awesomeness.

These ingredients are pretty much always available in Hawaii, where I lived for a while back in 2015.

So this recipe is also a throwback to living on the Big Island!

For folks not living in the tropics, don’t worry!

You can get frozen pineapple and mango and fresh bananas and oranges year round.

In the winter, I like to drink this for lunch, because my digestive fire is stronger.

When it’s warmer, it is perfect as breakfast, lunch, or pre-dinner drink.

Here’s The Recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas (ripe & spotty)
  • 1 cup mango (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup pineapple (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 2 cups fresh orange juice (from 2-4 pounds of oranges)

Process:

  1. Make your orange juice.
  2. Add all ingredients to blender.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Customize This Recipe According To Your Dosha

Vata – This recipe rocks for you. All these fruits are vata-pacifying. Do your best to use fresh, not frozen fruit. To minimize the cooling quality, remove any refrigerated ingredients from the refrigerator and allow them to warm to room temperature before you make the recipe. Store your fruit outside of the fridge as much as possible. Throw in a chunk of fresh ginger to increase warming quality. Feel free to add a couple dates to increase the heartiness of this recipe.

Pitta – This is a great recipe for you too! It should help cool you down. Make sure your pineapple is ripe and sweet! Coconut water is an incredible cooling elixir for pitta dominant folks.

Kapha – Do your best to use fresh, not frozen fruit. To minimize the cooling quality, remove any refrigerated ingredients from the refrigerator and allow them to warm to room temperature before you make the recipe. Store your fruit outside of the fridge as much as possible. Throw in a chunk of fresh ginger to increase warming quality.
